ARMAN DILANYAN
President of the Constitutional Court

Born in 1974 in the village of Getapnya, Ararat Marz.

In 1996, he graduated from Faculty of Law of the YSU (Yerevan State University).

In 2004, he received the PhD Degree in International Public Law. The scientific thesis was entitled: "International Courts and Issues of Peaceful Settlement of Interstate Disputes".

From 21.08.1996 to September 2012, he, respectively, worked as the First Category Specialist at the Secretariat of the Staff of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, Assistant to the Vice-President and Head of the Division of Analysis of Individual Applications at the Legal Advisory Service (Department).

From 29.09.2012 to 26.04.2013, he served as the Head of the Legal Advisory Service (Department) at the Staff of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.

From 03.04.2006 and onwards, as an invited lecturer, he has delivered educational courses at the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University (educational courses subjects: "International Law", "International Justice").

From 03.04.2006 to February 2013, he ran the position of the Chair of International and European Law Department at the Law Faculty of the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University.

On 12 December 2013, upon the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia, he was appointed as the Judge of the Administrative Court of the Republic of Armenia.

From 2015 and onwards, he has been lecturing at the School of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia (educational courses delivered: "Representation in Administrative Litigation", "Representation in Administrative Proceedings").

On 28 April 2017, during the General Assembly of the Union of Judges of the Republic of Armenia, he was elected as a member of the Council of the Association of Judges of the Republic of Armenia. He is adjunct to the editorial board of the scientific-methodical journal “Judicial Power”.

On 13 September 2018, upon the decision of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, he was elected as the Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.

On 12 October 2020, during the procedural session of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, he was elected to the position of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia for six years term.

Arman Dilanyan is married. He has two sons.
