Arevik Petrosyan was born on December 9, 1972, in Leninakan.
In 1994 graduated from the Department of Law of Yerevan State University with honor, postgraduate student at Yerevan State University.
Since 1994 lecturer researcher.
In 1997 Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor.
1994-1996 worked as first-rate specialist at the Legal Department of the RA President.
1996-1997 worked as a leading specialist at the Legal Department of the RA President.
1997-1998 worked as a chief specialist at the Legal Department of the RA President.
1998-1999 worked as an acting head of the Protocol and Translation Department at the Office of the RA President, later as a head of the above mentioned department and as a deputy head of the Secretary Department.
1999-2002 was appointed as a Deputy Minister of Justice of the RA.
26.11.1999 was awarded with the title of third class councilor of justice.
2002 was appointed as a Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Civil Service for a five-year term, in 2007 for a six-year term.
12.07.2007 was awarded with the medal of the RA Council of Civil Service.
In 2007 was elected as a Member of the RA National Assembly.
2007 (June-November) was elected as a Chairperson of the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public affairs.
2007 (November) 2010 (October) Deputy Chairperson of the RA National Assembly.
2010 (October-December) Member of the NA Standing Committee on Health care, Maternity and Childhood.
In 8 December 2010 by decree of the President of the RA was appointed as a member of the Constitutional Court of the RA.
16.05.2012 was awarded with the “CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly.20 years” medal by the Council of the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly.
Author of three scientific researches and more than a dozen of scientific articles.
Has one daughter.
