KIM BALAYAN
Member (Judge) of the Constitutional Court (2003-2018)

Kim Balayan was born on October 15, 1947 in Mardakert district, in the village of Nerkin Horatagh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Graduated from local secondary school in 1966.

1966-1974 - Graduated from the Law Department of Yerevan State University.

1972-1975 worked as a senior assistant in the Law Department, lecturer at the Chair of Criminology of Yerevan State University.

1975-1977 - worked as a senior expert at the department of scientific-searches' laboratory in the Ministry of Justice. 1977-1990 the head of the same department, 1990-1995 deputy of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Armenia, acting chairman of the standing commission on legal affairs, member of the Presidium of the Supreme Council, the head of the same Commission.

1999 the head of the Department of Legal Service of Supreme Organ of Armenian Revolution Party of Dashnakcutyun.

2000-2003 Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, member of the standing commission on state-legal affairs.

On November 18, 2003 he was appointed as a member of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia by the decision of the National Assembly of the RA.
